Filming Los Angeles Above 10,000 Feet
I fly an airplane above 10,000 feet to film Los Angeles from a new perspective rarely seen before. Because of the airspace restrictions of LAX, it's difficult to fly over many parts of the city, especially at altitudes above a couple thousand feet. So I put some cameras on a small airplane and went above the LAX airspace restriction of 10,000 feet.

Flying an airplane over Tulare Lake 2023: What happened??
Переглядів 428 тис.Рік тому
The newly reformed Tulare Lake has flooded the the central valley of California in 2023. One of the wettest winters on record brought back this lake after it was drained for agricultural use in the late 1800s. Check out extraordinary footage as I fly a small airplane over the lake to showcase the immense flooding and explain the history of the lake and why this is such a significant event.

Our dog's first airplane flight was NOT a success :(
Переглядів 3,3 тис.2 роки тому
We wanted to take our 6 month old dog up in the airplane for her first flight in my Grumman Tiger airplane. Unfortunately it didn't work out as we had hoped. Our dog became extremely stressed. We also try out the 4paws aviation dog headset to see how it performed. Lessons were learned and hopefully the next flight will be a better experience.

Flying over the Huntington Beach oil spill
Переглядів 25 тис.2 роки тому
See an aerial view of the Huntington Beach oil spill as I fly over in my small airplane to view the damage. On Saturday, October 2nd, over 3,000 barrels of crude oil began leaking from the Elly oil platform 5 miles off the coast of Huntington Beach, California. This massive oil spill is a potential ecological disaster for Southern California's pristine coastline.

Road Tripping in a small airplane: California to Arkansas / Part 1

Flying across the country in a small airplane is kind of like taking a road trip. We flew my small airplane, a Grumman Tiger, from California to Arkansas and back to visit family for the 4th of July. The original plan was to fly from Los Angeles to Sedona, overnight in Santa Fe, then somewhere in Oklahoma and finally to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Thunderstorms along the way forced us to change our ...
Airplane camping at Kern Valley, California with gusty winds!
Переглядів 8 тис.3 роки тому
I took my Grumman Tiger to go airplane camping at the beautiful campground of Kern Valley, California, located in the lower Sierra Nevada Mountains. The winds were gusty that day, making for a very sporty approach and landing. The airport is located a few miles south of the small town of Kernville and sits right next to the Kern River. It's a short hop from Los Angeles in the plane and feels li...
Death Valley airports are in danger of closing: Save Stovepipe Wells

Death Valley has two paved runways and both of them are in danger of closing to most general aviation airplanes. The National Park Service wants to close Stovepipe Wells airport and turn it into a night sky viewing area. In addition, the poor runway conditions at Furnace Creek airport have made it unsafe for airplanes to land, with no repair in sight. Can anything be done? In the video I explai...

I liked the guy until he got anal about his friend Carla not being perfectly precise about "Chicken Fried Steak!" Dude, you don't appreciate the lovely lady by your side. You don't always need to be the smartest person in the 'jerk-pit'. 2 Thumbs down.
Happy Birthday Dorothy!!!
I really enjoyed this video!
Correction1991!
My wife and I camped above spirit lake in 2001 and we noticed how the vegetation and animal life was beginning to return. It’s amazing how we don’t realize how time shapes our landscape. The earth does not really care about us humans. We play a incredibly small role in its overall history.
I would love to see a fly over of the kern canyon following the kern river but maybe that is not an allowable flight path? I drive that canyon now and then and it would be cool to see an aerial view of it.
Please sir, may I have some more? This was fascinating!
Crater Lake?
I was able to be a passenger in a small plane that flew over the area as soon as it was allowed. Seeing the condition of the trees in stages from standing dead to completely gone was mind bending. I watched the next eruption in August with my coworkers from Boeing's Kent Space Center. That's not a sight you get used to.
I had a dream about 7 months ago about a volcano erupting and I saw the mountain with snow and the lava coming down and people running in hysteria packing the train to get out of there. Everybody was thirsty and screaming while there was ash falling all over. After this dream the Iceland volcano erupted but I couldn't see a train in that area. This is the only time this is clicking for me. Anybody in the area please stay alert.
Can we still consider Andreas a Saint after all the trouble it causes?
Hello 👋 dear friends what a great 👍 flight ✈️ over the San Andre's fault ❤. A wonderful presentation indeed 👏 ❤👏♥️👏♥️
My father went up with his good friend named Bill Hunter in a Grumman AA-5 Cheetah immediately following the eruption and took a bunch of photographs of the mudflows and houses washing down stream. They didn't find out until after returning that a no fly zone was issued in the area. Many of the photos they had have never been seen to the public. Bill passed away in recent years😢
Wonderful, thank you.
I am here as I am preperaing for upsc .just like me as to remind
A man needs his purpose. Can the backstory be learned?
Thank you for sharing. 👍🏻
My girlfriend’s parents both died in the eruption. Their bodies were never found either.
Oh my...that's terrible. Do you know the approximate location of where they were at the time of eruption?
I really want to learn how to fly.
I'll bet you if you test that water. It's Colorado river water. They're doing the San Joaquin valley that way on purpose. They don't want you farming and you people in California are stupid. The Colorado rivers going dry but The? lake is rising.Does that make sense or 1:56 how stupid are you people Have you seen the giant drilling machines? That Tesla is making and all these other Mississippi is dryingbut the water line in the ocean is getting bigger. They're doing all this on purpose. Cause billionaires want to own the water. And they don't want you growing crops. That's why they're shutting down all the small farms in all these states. Why is up people
I was living in Great Falls, MT at that time. I was just a little kid, but remember the day the ash came. Great video.
I was expecting you to have well over 500k subscribers with a video of such high quality and perfect delivery. Well done my friend.
Glad you liked it!
I was 8 when the eruption happened. There was ash on our picnic table in Goleta (Santa Barbara county). That is a long way! Great video
From that height it's quite beautiful. At what altitude would you need oxygen or pressure regulation?
FAA rules: oxygen required above 12,500 if more than 30 minutes or anytime above 14,000
@@Wolficorntv What is the maximum altitude for your airplance? Also, how does altitude effect fuel efficiency? I'm obviously not a pilot but I find it fascinating!
Real-world max altitude depends on many factors: temps, weight, density altitude and the list goes on. I have personally gone to 14,000 and felt like she could still climb a few more thousand (but I didn’t have oxygen so I didn’t go any higher). Fuel efficiency increases as you go higher. That is why airliners like to fly high.
I am a bit surprised as Soda lake really isn't near the San Andreas fault
It's only 2 or 3 miles from the fault. More importantly, its the lowest point in the Carrizo Plain, which has no drainage outlet due to the movement of the fault.
@@Wolficorntv ah OK on google maps it seemed much further, probably wrong. tnx
Good video! Thanks!

Santa Paula, L77, Oceanside.
Great suggestions. Been to all 3 but I've only driven to L77.
Very well done! Great quality & extremely informative. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Did you fly over Cold Water Lake? When I did, we lost 500ft straight down (in level flight)!
I did fly over Coldwater but didn't have any sink issues. Winds were pretty calm that day.
Thanks!
very kind of you. Glad you liked it Susan!
Great video! It’s good to see an aviator putting effort into their content 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
it is starting to build up on the outside again and reform itself i was only a teenager when Mt St Helens erupted and boy o boy did we get hit with volcano ash here in lower saskatchewan
Stunning! ❤
Thank you! 😊
RIP David Johnston and Harry Truman.
They could have driven and been there.

But we are. LOL
Back in 2018, I did a road trip I always wanted to and drove to Parkfield up in Monterey County. I stood on that infamous bent Parkfield bridge you pass over before entering the incredibly small settlement of Parkfield. Mid afternoon, I'm alone standing on top of the bridge over the fault in the middle where the compromise joint is, everything quiet except for the crickets and the breeze... I stood there for a few minutes contemplating the enormous power of this monster fault line then thought, you idiot! Do you realize what your standing on top of? _Get_ _in_ _the_ _car!_ _Get_ _in_ _the_ _car!_
Was mindlessly scrolling through UA-cam, this was recommended. Whooa, this is fascinating! Loved how you explained the creek movement with graphics. Regards from Russia
I love it when I find random things thru YT. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Tulare Lake returns and so is the Aral Sea. Every year there are wildfires in areas that we (man kind) have been "preserving", instead of letting nature take its course and allowing small areas burn when it is time. We eliminated wolves from Yellowstone and it screwed up the ecology big time. We've torn down every beaver dam we come across and have seen the land dry up. Yet when we build dams, those reservoirs dry up. When are we going to learn to live WITH nature and quit trying to control it? I'm afraid that if we don't quit trying to control "Mother Nature" then Mother Nature is going to turn us over her knee and paddle our asses till we can't sit down for a long time.
Got to blame someone........lol
That was awesome.
What is the movement of the block along the San Andreas fault
It is not in Lake Havasu, That is California. It is in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Two totally Different Places
Good stuff thank you 😂😂😂
Glad you enjoyed it
magnificent
Good video. Straight to the point. No music or BS. 100% agree with all your selections except for me personally I'd swap Chino for Camarillo. Usually a fair amount of warbirds plus the infamous Flo's for breakfast....where many a pilot has gone to clog their arteries.
Thx! Flo's definitely will clog your arteries!
Bryan, before I saw your video, I booked a week for instruction (and checkride) out in Moose pass and was curious about your thoughts on the checkride process itself? Anything noteworthy compared to PPL/IFR checkrides?
It’s was a very relaxed checkride…dare I say fun?
@@Wolficorntv Awesome, can't wait!
@@jadeng1147 Moose Pass is such a great place to get your seaplane rating. So many lakes in close proximity, all with different characteristics. Not to mention that it’s drop dead beautiful there. Have fun!
@@Wolficorntv I'll be sure to bring a camera, thank you!
San Andreas was actually really cool. I don’t think it was his fault at all.
